How can Allergy Therapy help you?

We are all unique individuals , unique not only in how we look but also in how we deal with the pressures of everyday life and how our bodies deal with the food we eat. Allergy therapy may help to strengthen your body and its immune system, encouraging a balanced return to health, vitality and positive well-being.

A series of gentle muscle tests will be carried out to identify any foods, chemicals or environmental substances that are having a negative effect on your body. These can cause symptoms such as:

  • Reduced energy and concentration
  • Digestive problems - e.g. bloating, heartburn, reflux, excess gas
  • Headaches
  • Eczema/acne/rashes
  • Mood swings/low mood/anxiety
  • Sinusitis
  • Joint pains
  • Recurring infections
  • Disturbed sleep
Candida and nutritional deficiencies can also be tested for.

What is muscle testing?

Muscle testing is a gentle series of muscle resistance movements. These are usually carried out on your arm. It is totally painless, non-invasive and suitable for all ages.

The muscle testing will be carried out while placing sample phials on your body. The results are immediate and are intended to identify any substances that are having a negative impact on your mental and physical well-being.

What happens at a first appointment?

Please allow up to 2 hours for your first appointment, where 50+ substances will be tested on you. We will begin by taking a full case history, including details of your health, lifestyle and diet. Testing will then be carried out with you lying fully clothed on a couch.

The sample phials will usually be placed on your abdomen, so please wear suitably comfortable clothing.
Once the testing has been completed we will look at the results and discuss any changes that can be made to your diet or lifestyle to empower you on your journey back to optimal health.

You will leave with a list of foods that suit you and also a list of foods to avoid until your next appointment.

It would be very helpful if you could bring with you any medication or supplements that you are currently taking.

Following on from your first appointment

Your second appointment will usually take place 4-6 weeks later and will take up to one and a half hours. We will re-test the foods you have been avoiding since your initial testing to see if any are ready to be reintroduced and will then test variety of other foods and substances on you. Ideally your 3rd appointment will be 4-6 weeks later and will take approximately 45 mins.

Supplements such as vitamins and minerals may be recommended to support your treatment, and Rachel will be available throughout to give you support and answer any of your queries.
